The Barbarian invasions of Rome in Late Antiquity are inextricably bound up with the decline of Western Roman imperialism (ca. CE 300–550), and seen by many historians as inaugurating the Middle Ages http://popular-archaeology.com/issue/12012013/article/barbarians-at-the-gates-of-rome
The real danger for the world democracies is their failure to recognize and to act upon the growing danger of the barbaric 7th century wave of Muslim extremists whose goal is to establish a worldwide caliphate.
“Today, the terrorist threat has transformed from a single group to the Global Jihad Movement, consisting of AL-Qaeda and its operationally associated groups in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the Caucuses, as well as the self-radicalized homegrown cells. As the spearhead of the Global Jihad Movement, AL-Qaeda presents the most significant threat both to Muslim regimes and Western societies. AL-Qaeda’s philosophy of global jihad and methodology of suicide attacks has gained popularity and traction within politicized and radicalized Muslims. Its philosophy urging Muslims to fight their local governments [local jihad], the US and its Allies [global jihad] is gaining worldwide acceptance.” http://news.siteintelgroup.com/blog/index.php/submissions/21-jihad/44-reassess
The silent majority.
“So while I understand that most Muslims are not at war with us, they’ve proven in their silence and inaction against jihad that they’re not on our side either, and there’s nothing we can say or do to change that. We just have to finally accept it and stop expecting them to come around, while doing our best to kill those who are trying to kill us.”
“We didn’t use terms such as “Radical Nazism”, “Extremist Shinto” and “Militant Communism” in the past. “Militant Islam”, Political Islam”, etc., are redundant terms. Our pretending otherwise has proven disastrous. Thousands of American lives, both civilian and military, have been sacrificed because of policies predicated on the myth that “Islam means peace.” We didn’t try to reform Shinto or Nazism during World War II; the major changes in those cultures took place only after we thoroughly DE-militarized them.”
“As the Israeli government counterattacks against terrorism, we need a parallel counterattack against today’s intellectual and ideological support structure for totalitarian terrorism, which emboldens extremists, intentionally or not. In this battle of ideas we must accept complexity, acknowledge fluidity, reject false moral equivalences, and question biases, no matter how trendy.
As an academic, I feel betrayed by my many colleagues who enable totalitarian terrorism with their simplistic slogans regarding Israel. Academics thrive on complexity; we can complicate anything, leveraging it into papers, lectures, and cocktail riffs. Yet, when Israel is involved, oversimplification and obfuscation prevail, encouraging demonization.” http://blogs.jpost.com/content/counterattack-fight-totalitarian-terrorists-and-their-enablers
Diversion: “Military. A feint intended to draw off attention from the point of main attack.” http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/diversion
I wonder if Muslims are using Europe's organic antisemitism to divert the European's attention from Islam's real goal – the world caliphate.
"As a universal religion, Islam envisages a global political order in which all humankind will live under Muslim rule as either believers or subject communities. In order to achieve this goal it is incumbent on all free, male, adult Muslims to carry out an uncompromising struggle 'in the path of Allah,' or jihad. This in turn makes those parts of the world that have not yet been conquered by the House of Islam an abode of permanent conflict (Dar al-Harb, the house of War) which will only end with Islam's eventual triumph.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worldwide_Caliphate
Unfortunately it is impossible for Israel alone to defeat the caliphate. And if the world will not wake up from it's delusion soon it better get ready for a new order – Islam.
