Spies, Traitors and Fools.

Snowden naive fool
Finding Freedom in China and Russia.

America now has a bloated and not very effective Homeland Security empire.  Almost 5 million people with security clearance work for this almost unmanageable conglomerate.  People need to understand that in such a huge group of employees, no matter what you do to improve personnel screening, another Snowden or Manning will happen.  Guaranteed.  Just a matter of time.

Americans want security.  We the American people want our Government to protect us.  First of all we have to understand that nothing can make the country 100% safe, no matter what we do.  And the Boston bombing is a good example.

I don’t have proof but I suspect that further expansion of the Homeland Security apparatus becomes less and less effective.  There is the Pareto Principle (The 80/20 Rule).  In other words 20% of people in any organization do 80% of the work.  So, out of 5 million, 4 million are dead wood. http://betterexplained.com/articles/understanding-the-pareto-principle-the-80/20-rule/

The inefficiency of size takes the form of an increasingly skewed noise to signal ratio.”  http://pandodaily.com/2013/03/12/when-does-something-become-too-big-2/

In a way what Snowden did will help (hopefully) to improve the system and maybe even help to streamline the operations and improve efficiency.

Snowden fled to Russia
Putin the Stalwart of Democracy

About the “whistle blower”…he is not a hero.  A well meaning fool with means can do a lot of damage.  The unilateral disarmament is not a working option at the present time.  And the fact that he is on the run and, out of all places, he ran to China and Russia?

I don’t even blame nor am I surprised that they (China and Russia) did not return this fool to the US.  We would do the same and jump at the opportunity to get the documents he stole from the NSA.

So, yes, there may be some benefits from this incident but this guy harmed the security of the US and perhaps put some lives in jeopardy.  I doubt that Snowden is a spy…probably just an idealist.  But actions speak louder than words.  He went to China and Russia – the ”bastions of Democracy.”  Fool!

What an enlightening idea – instead of wasting money at McDonald’s – skip the food! That will save you money on food and insurance premiums! Your auto insurance premium depends on your driving habits and driving history. Your home insurance premium depends on where your house is located. Any insurance premium is a calculated risk. And health insurance is no exception. So stop whining and sign up for the gym.

Employees’ unhealthy habits have a growing effect on their insurance premiums.

Healthy life style and weight
Sick America

In an effort to rein in soaring medical-insurance costs — now estimated at more than $12,000 per employee — big companies are increasingly turning from incentives to penalties to change their workers’ unhealthy habits.

The most recent example is CVS Caremark, which has ignited controversy by requiring its 200,000 employees across Florida and the nation to undergo screenings to record their weight, body fat, blood glucose and blood pressure levels. If they don’t do so by May 1, they’ll have to pay an extra $600 for health insurance in the coming year.

The shift is drawing fire from patients’ rights groups, which consider the policies coercive and a violation of privacy. At Michelin North America, the tire manufacturer, workers with thick waistlines — 40 inches and over for men, 35 and over for women — will have to pay up to $1,000 more a year in health insurance premiums than their leaner coworkers. http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2013-04-12/news/os-employee-health-insurance-20130412_1_cvs-caremark-insurance-premiums-health-insurance

My take on it: The only way to get healthcare costs under control is taking personal responsibility for our health.  No doctor will do it for us.  And the only way to get people to change their lives is by monetary encouragement.  Many can find a bunch of great reasons why they cannot help it…but money talks.

I also would suggest that medicaid patients pay a certain amount for every visit to a doctor.  I see every day that people on medicaid run to a doctor without much reason and with no results.

But Dr. Michael Siegel, a professor at Boston University School of Public Health, sees policies such as CVS’ as “a slippery slope”.

“What are people going to be penalized for next?” Siegel said.  “Will they ask how many times you go out for fast food each week?  Are they going to ask how much people drink?  Are they going to ask about sexual behavior?  What if an employee is having unsafe sex?  It opens the door to asking people all kinds of personal questions that have nothing to do with how well you do your job.” http://www.columbian.com/news/2013/apr/22/employees-unhealthful-habits-affect-insurance.

Obesity is not just a private matter.
Your choice; your responsibility.

Personally I don’t care if you eat at McDonald’s every hour! Just don’t blame the system and don’t ask me to pay for your stupidity! The bottom line in my opinion…people should be responsible for their own actions or inaction.  I personally do not want to pay extra for my insurance premium because my coworker is fat and lazy and drinks and smokes.  In this country we the people should bare the consequences.

“We are free to choose our paths, but we can’t choose the consequences that come with them.” ―Sean Covey, The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens

You want to smoke and eat ice cream every day – fine.  It is your life.  Just don’t ask society to pay the consequences of your stupidity. Only bankers can do this!

So yes.  On this rare occasion I support corporations that force people to take care of their health, regardless of the reasons that motivate corporations to do so.

Do not blame others for your issues.
Just look in the mirror!

Here is another money-saving idea: “Fasting – where little or no food is eaten a few days a week, can be as beneficial as exercise or surgery if you have heart disease.  It improves blood pressure while releasing a protein that naturally protects the heart, and recent research suggests it may even reverse type 2 diabetes. All the benefits of fasting have been evaluated by scientists at Aston University, and they have come away with a long list that is topped by improvements to heart health, reversal of diabetes and reduction in inflammation.

Intermittent fasting – where food is not eaten on alternate days or several days a week, is also a very effective way of losing weight, says lead researcher James Brown.” http://www.wddty.com/fasting-improves-heart-health-and-may-even-reverse-diabetes.html

Shooting Mexicans with Drones.

I just wonder if these American Tea Party patriots would lead by example and go pick tomatoes instead of wasting time in Congress. It is a strange human logic that, while cutting money on education, they are ready to spend 30 billions dollars on much unneeded 700 miles of new fence and double the border security personnel. Humans…

Brilliant Strategy!

Republicans secretly decided to build the fence on the Mexican border just in case they win the elections and Americans will try to escape to Mexico.  So to finance the project of the century, severe fiscally-conservative Tea Party leaders decided to take money from the food stamps program.  This brilliant move will assure that money is not wasted on these gold diggers who are currently getting food stamps and that these free loaders will not escape to Mexico and embarrass sensitive and fragile Tea Party members.

Also, The Great Leader of North Korea demanded that the US stops reinforcing it’s border with Mexico.  He is worried that this US-Mexico highly militarized border will overtake the North – South Korean border as the most militarized in the world.  The Great One cannot allow this.

Does the End Justify the Means?

We humans are an integral part of the ecosystem, an inseparable part of life on our planet. I do believe that many people, especially younger generations, physically feel the pain when they see injustice and abuse, not just of a human being but of every living thing. Unfortunately these people will never become rich in our heartless and greedy society.

Disaster

True Fiscal Conservatives.

Nearly four months ago, Oklahoma Senators Tom Coburn and James Inhofe both voted against H.R.152, the Disaster Relief Appropriations Act that eventually sent $50.5 billion in relief to victims of Hurricane Sandy. And in the flurry of last night’s devastation in Moore, Oklahoma, it was impossible not to forget that fact, knowing the federal government would soon rallyto the cause.http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2013/05/why-we-cant-forget-oklahomas-senators-voted-against-sandy-relief/65435/

Coburn spokesman John Hart on Monday evening confirmed that in 2011 both senators opposed legislation that would have granted necessary funding for FEMA when the agency was set to run out of money.  Sending the funds to FEMA would have been “unconscionable,” Coburn said at the time. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/20/oklahoma-senators-disaster-relief_n_3309234.html

 Tom Coburn and James Inhofe
Awkward !

So let me explain to you liberals and FEMA sympathizers what true conservatives do to really help their constituents.

“My thoughts and prayers are with those in Oklahoma affected by the tragic tornado outbreak.” Said Senator Coburn, “We all, he said, are providing the most important disaster relief – our prayers.”

But in case prayers are not enough, Senators Tom Coburn and James Inhofe insist on immediate money transfer from school lunches money to Oklahoma disaster relief for their state.

Also Senator Coburn will seek to ensure that any additional funding for tornado disaster relief in Oklahoma be offset by cuts to the FEMA disaster relief fund.

The fiscally responsible Oklahoma Senators also demanded that neighbors whose houses survived the tornadoes refuse Government’s relief money and allocate a portion of their incomes to help their less fortunate neighbors.  “This should not be called a tax because fiscally conservative Senators demanded the money, not this Socialist Obama and his big Government.”

In conclusion we want to express our outrage that “Nature” is in cahoots with these liberal, godless scientists and their loony, godless “Climate Change” nonsense. Let’s pray to our fiscally conservative God, Grover Norquist.
